PhD conference in economics and business

I am attending the PhD Conference in Business and Economics at the University of Western Australia in Perth.  This runs over 3 days and gives those about to finish their doctoral presentations the chance to present their work in a formal conference setting and to see the work of others.  There are 35 presentations in all and 35 economic discussants of these papers mainly drawn from Australian economics and finance departments.  Prizes are awarded for best papers and best discussants. Professor Ken Clements runs the show if it is held in Perth when it is one of the best organised conferences in Australia.

As the discussants come from most economics and business departments in Australia the conference also operates as a job market. As editor of Economic Papers I am also scouting for publishable material for this journal – if you are attending as a presenter and wish to explore exercising this option please let me know.
